Christchurch In Ruinsby ~bleed-the-sky

While in Christchurch, New Zealand I took the opportunity to take a look around the city centre which was most effected by the earthquake. It was quite surreal walking through the streets and hardly seeing a soul or hearing the thousands of cars buzzing by that you usually expect in such a place. I felt like I was on the set of a post-apocalyptic movie scene, half-expecting zombies to jump out of the debris!

Holly crap it still hits hard that the catholic basilica is gone. I illustrated this building while I lived in Christchurch. I took my wife there on holiday not to long ago.

lol....great picture. I live near Chch and only recently got up the courage to go see it for myself. It'd be nice if they rebuilt but with the quakes continuing I don't see it happening.
